The Memphis Grizzlies recently shook things up by firing head coach Taylor Jenkins, a massive move made right before the playoffs.

However, they may not be done changing things, according to Sam Amick.

Speaking on “Run It Back,” Amick suggested that Ja Morant could be on the move and needs to be closely monitored in the months ahead.

“Little bit of the same vibe of the De’Aaron Fox situation, which is like, ‘Keep your eyes on it and see where it goes,’” Amick said, via NBACentral.

The De’Aaron Fox situation proved that even when a head coach is relieved of duty, problems may persist.

The Sacramento Kings let go of Mike Brown, partly to improve the atmosphere in the locker room, but it still wasn’t enough.

If Morant is unhappy with the team, getting a new head coach may not fix things.

Morant is a young and talented star and if he were to grow tired of being in Memphis, there are many teams that would leap at the chance to sign him.

The next few weeks will be critical for him and the future of the team.

If the Grizzlies once again fall short in the playoffs, whispers of Morant leaving will grow louder.

But if they have a strong run and make some serious noise, he may be more inclined to remain.

Memphis fans were hoping the firing of Jenkins would silence a lot of the worries about this team, but they remain, and questions about Morant are starting to pop up more frequently as the hugely consequential playoffs get closer.
